Writers will come to the Portland Sheraton Airport Hotel to build their community, develop their craft and advance their careers.
Regardless of the type of writer an attendee is, she or he will find top tier instruction at the conference. More than 100 workshops, lectures and speeches from an extremely diverse group of professional writers, coaches, consultants and teachers will be presented.
Instructors like Portland’s Lidia Yuknavitch will take writers on a journey of self-discovery. Other instructors from across the U.S. will provide specialized instruction only available at special events like this conference. Tom Willett (Austin, Tex.) will provide insight into screenplay structure. Jane Friedman (Virginia) will help writers understand the business side of writing. Robert Vivian (Michigan) will teach new forms of essay and poetry. Hallie Ephron (New York) will share insights into writing great fiction. Larry Brooks (Arizona) will challenge writer to dig deep into process. Luke Ryan (Los Angeles) will help screenwriters better understand the rapidly changing landscape in film and television.
Opportunities are available to meet and pitch to Literary agents and Hollywood agents, managers, and producers.
The early registration deadline is June 15th, but registrations are accepted through to and at the conference.
